Dead Letter Office has dedicated themselves to faithfully reproducing the music and energy of a live R.E.M. show. Since 2014, they’ve been thrilling audiences throughout the U.S. & Canada, providing a show that’s been sorely missed since R.E.M called it quits.

Hey everyone- I’ve had the idea of starting a Progressive Thinktank in Indianapolis. I’d like to get everyone’s thoughts on what this might be and the ideas and concepts that could be researched and tested in Indianapolis. You might also consider this a Do Tank as pilot projects that we hope will be replicated also will be part of the project.

Possibilities include social issues, the environment, and education, though I want to be a little vague to leave room for creativity. So come Monday, bring a friend, and let me pick your brain.

Antwan Houser, a Pastor and United States Navy Veteran, is a dedicated leader who loves working with and impacting the lives of youth and young adults in all facets of life. Houser currently serves as the minister over the Young Adult Ministry at Emmanuel MBC in Indianapolis, IN under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Daryl K. Webster, and his role at Emmanuel has afforded him with the great opportunity to pour into the lives of youth and young adults for over 10 years. Antwan has always had a thirst and desire to work in and be a community leader and a humbled yet prominent voice for the community.

With the amount of increased crime and murders that had taken place in our city, he felt that it was time for him to step up. Since those committing the crime were closer to his age group and generation, yet no one from his generation had stepped up to speak out against the crimes. Antwan sensed that there was no better time of uniting together as young pastors, preachers and leaders to stand and joining the fight becoming the voice for this generation. Antwan being committed to improving the quality of life of the City of Indianapolis along with its communities and generations of today and future founded and is the president of UPLIFT (United Pastors & Leaders Influencing Future Transformations). In the foundation Antwan states “We don’t take away from and will continue to pay homage to the senior pastors and leaders in the community that have labored and are laboring to make our city a better place to live and raise families. We as the younger generation want to help and do our part.”

Under his leadership UPLIFT also developed a young men’s program named UPLIFT G.O.A.L.S. (Gentlemen Overcoming and Achieving Life Situations) as well as a young ladies program UPLIFT P.E.A.R.L.S. (Preparing Equipping Affirming Respectful Ladies for Success) where both programs go back to the basics of what it means to be a gentleman and lady. Antwan additionally finds time to visit and partner with schools, to include Colleges, Indianapolis Public Schools, schools within Lawrence and Pike Townships as well as Charter schools speaking about the importance of education, giving back to your community, by not becoming a negative statistic but a positive product as well as being the best that they can be not just in school, but in life.

Join us and hear Houser’s story and how we may be able to help him advance his mission in the community.
