Fri, Jan 03, 2020 6:00 PM - Fri, Jan 03, 2020 10:00 PM @ Listen Hear

Navigate through Listen Hear from December 6th – January 17th as we welcome designer and artist Chad Eby.

Amidst an array of light and sound, Skärgården re-imagines cold war paranoia in the Stockholm archipelago in light and sound. The heart of this art installation is a self-organizing wireless mesh network that mirrors aspects of both the isolation and cooperation of an interconnected system of separate parts.

Chad Eby is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, teacher and researcher with particular interests in lighting, digital art, digital fabrication, people-center design and design history.

I have survived.

I was asked to write a very difficult letter on behalf of a rapist and I could not find the space or the right materials to accomplish the task, so I reached out to an interactive/experiential art gallery and asked to make an installation in which to write letters. I asked for help from my friends and the special assistance of a florist to create the most lovely and magical space in which to write. After pulling all the pieces together (photographs framed in gold, a chandelier, red candles, fresh flowers now decaying, velvet drapes, rugs, pens and paper) I was able to give that room to others who needed to write similar letters.

Dear Rapist, Heal Her is a floral installation and art piece within the hallowed halls of Healer DIY. This installation seeks to turn on a light. To call them by their name, Rapist.

I carved space for us ~ it’s alive ~ and for healing

It’s time to celebrate because we have survived and we are thriving !

A room full of more love letters than dead flowers or haunted memories, now we can raise our stories and celebrate 🥀⚜️
