Thu
Thu, Jul 29, 2021 7:00 PM - Thu, Jul 29, 2021 9:00 PM @ McGowan Hall

Let’s jump back into the swing of things starting with our Phase 1: Welcome Back Dance. This event is going to require that ALL attendees are fully vaccinated (2 weeks post your final inoculation). Please bring your vaccination card or a digital copy to the dance so we can verify your vaccination status. If you forget your card, you will be turned away. See below for more details on this event and our COVID statements.

***Beginner Lesson and Dance***
To kick off the event, we’re hosting a 30-minute 6-Count lindy hop lesson starting at 7 pm covering the basics! We realize it’s been quite a while since most of us have danced in a social setting, and we could all use some help getting back into a good rhythm and getting warmed up. We’ll continue to dance throughout the evening to DJ’d music! The bar will be open at McGowan Hall to purchase drinks.

***Tickets***
Please pre-register for the event (only $5)! Prices will increase to $8 for day-of registrations/walk-ins.
• All debit/credit transactions will be completed through Eventbrite.
• You can pre-register and pay with cash (it helps have your info already inputed into our system) – just bring your money when you come!
This specific event does not distinguish between members and non-members. We will not be offering swag or membership purchases at this time.
Pre-registering is going to be very important moving forward. Events offering pre-registration will require a minimum of 8 attendees. If we do not reach the minimum, Naptown Stomp reserves the right to cancel the event.

***COVID Vaccination Card***
You MUST bring your COVID vaccine card with you to the event. If you do not have it, you will be turned away.
• You can bring your physical card to the event
• You can take a clear picture of your card
• You can create an account and download your Indiana covid vaccine verification document
• You will only have to show your proof of vaccination the first time you attend a Naptown Stomp event.

***COVID Precautions***
We are hosting this event in person, however, the safety and health of our attendees are our top priority. We will continually monitor developments related to COVID-19, as well as local and national guidelines to ensure the health of the public.
• ALL attendees must be fully vaccinated (2 weeks post your final inoculation)
• Registration is required for all attendees and will be used for contact tracing purposes if the need arises.
• Please wash hands or use hand sanitizer prior to dancing with another person.
• Dancers will be responsible for their own hydration and should bring their own water bottles.
• Completely cover your mouth when sneezing or coughing, with clothing, tissues, or your arm or shoulder (not your hands!).
• All attendees must self-screen for symptoms prior to heading to any Naptown Stomp hosted event. Stay home if you are not feeling well.
**Naptown Stomp (board and volunteers for each event) reserves the right to refuse admittance to anyone who is exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 or any other illness.
Our policies apply to Naptown Stomp run events only.

Sat
Sat, Jun 19, 2021 12:00 PM - Sat, Jun 19, 2021 8:00 PM @ Harrison Center

Held in Indy’s Old Northside neighborhood, this festival highlights the best independent local and regional musicians, visual artists, food vendors, and crafters. Founded in 2002, IMAF celebrates musicians who perform original live music and artists who create original work.

In the courtyard of the Harrison Center, two stages feature continuous music throughout the day. Rusty Redenbacher returns as emcee of the music portion of the event. An exciting line-up from a wide range of musical genres is in store for attendees.

The 2021 IMAF band line-up includes:
Seaux Chill: 12:00-12:35
Flatland Harmony Experiment: 12:40-1:15
Public Universal Friend: 1:20-1:55
Yadin Kol: 2:00-2:35
The Brother’s Footman: 2:40-3:15
Sheeza: 3:20-3:55
Mr. Kinetik: 4:00-4:35
Brother O’ Brother: 4:40-5:15
Ross Hollow: 5:20-5:55
Moxxie: 6:00-6:35
Allison Victoria: 6:40-7:15
Clint Breeze: 7:20-8:00

Inside the building and surrounding the Harrison Center, socially distanced vendors peddle their wares in the juried INDIEana Handicraft Exchange Summer Show. This contemporary craft fair consciously celebrates modern handmade goods, the relationship between creator and consumer, and local, alternative economies. IHE highlights local crafters and artisans as well as exposes Indianapolis to some of the best vendors on the national indie craft fair map.

Inside the Harrison Center, our galleries feature work by Jonathan McAffee, Michael Graves, Dee Dee Bernhardt, Barb Knuckles, Lorie Lee Andrews, Kristin Schoonveld, and Senior Painting Majors of Herron School of Art + Design.

A variety of food trucks will provide delicious food options and Sun King will also be providing beverages. ArtMix returns with their popular “Here’s the Scoop!” ice cream fundraiser in partnership with BRICS.
To honor Juneteenth, which falls on the same date as IMAF this year, we will have a free roller skating on a pop up rink in the Harrison Center gym. On the east side of the building, will be a participatory drum circle led by Josh Stodtman with appearances by Dr. Djo-Bi.

As part of the Harrison Center’s Cultural Entrepreneur Initiative, this year’s festival is coordinated by Herron High School junior, Amira Vanest. The Cultural Entrepreneur Initiative was created to give high school and college students the opportunity to learn and practice the five steps of cultural entrepreneurship: seeing a need, taking a risk, leveraging resources, investing energy and networking to build culture in Indianapolis.

With support from: Pepper Construction, Sun King Brewery, Plat Collective, the Arts Council of Indianapolis and the City of Indianapolis, Christel DeHaan Family Foundation, Indiana Arts Commission, Core Development, the Speck Fund, and the Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation.
