Where: Unitarian Universalist Church of Indianapolis (UUI)

Unitarian Universalist Church of Indianapolis (UUI) 615 W 43rd St Indianapolis, Indiana 46208

Join us on Thursday, November 15th for the wrap-up of the Indy Community Innovation Lab. We’ll be meeting at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Indianapolis (615 W 43rd St, Indianapolis, IN 46208) from 5:30-7:30 pm. Reception with food begins at 5:00 pm.

For the last 18 months, we’ve explored how the arts and artistic practices can help catalyze new thinking to spur innovative solutions to some of our more pressing social concerns. Working with EMC Arts, a New York City based consulting firm, we delved into how to support formerly incarcerated men and women, as well as youth aging out of foster care as they transition into the wider community. A few of the questions we asked during this process include:
– What do they need to be able “to make it”?
– How can community support this transition?
– What works, doesn’t work?
– What are we not seeing and understanding about the obstacles and opportunities?
– And more…

What emerged were 6 different pilot initiatives ranging from entrepreneurship opportunities in the arts, healing circles to address unrequited grief, the power of storytelling and so much more!

So, join us on November 15th to get insight into the process, our learnings and how you can support these efforts as they continue to evolve and move forward.

Finally, we would greatly appreciate it if you would RSVP so that we can have an accurate head count for the reception.

This project is a collaboration with EmcArts, Groundwork Indy, Kheprw Institute and Spirit and Place.
