Kheprw Institute and Solar United Neighbors will be partnering for a conversation and presentation on Energy Democracy and Indianapolis’s Low-Moderate Income Solar Pilot launching in Indianapolis. During the Summer of 2020 the city of Indianapolis will be partnering with Solar United to select a small group of low- income home owners to install free solar panels onto their roofs.
Join us on Saturday February 22nd, from 2pm-4pm to learn if you qualify to get a solar install on your home at no cost. This conversation is made possible through support from the Climate Justice Alliance.

WHAT IS ENERGY DEMOCRACY?
1. Distribute Power
– We will discuss alternative energy sources and economic factors that come into play in the means of accessibility.
2. Decentralization
⁃ Discuss creating alternative energy everywhere! or maybe challenging factors. Why doesn’t everyone have solar panels and wind turbines? How can we get there?
3. Ownership
⁃ Get communities involved, community led, community funded alternative energy. Get away from government entities.
4. Disruptive Technology
⁃ What technology is in the way of easy solutions?
