Indy Urban Acres – A project of the Indianapolis Parks Foundation
IU Health believes the donation will help fight diabetes and obesity by providing more fresh food to food pantries. Gleaners works in partnership with food pantries and other organizations who “act on the belief that nobody should ever go to bed hungry.” Working with the Indianapolis Parks Foundation and Indy Parks Department, Indy Urban Acres continues to grow rapidly. 350 Indy is planning a fun outing for our August meeting — a trip to the farm! Please join us at 6 p.m Wednesday, Aug. 8, at Indy Urban Acres, 7700 E. 21st St.
We’re visiting the farm to learn more about its operations and to scope it out as a possible location for a community composting program. This should be an informative and entertaining outing, and we encourage you to bring family and friends. Send me an email if you need directions or are interested in car-pooling.
