EVENT INFO:
August 2020:
Abbey Arts will not be hosting public gatherings at our venues in Seattle until Public Health guidelines allow.

Because producing streaming music & arts falls within essential services as described in Governor Inslee’s stay-at-home order, we are able to present select events online with all standard social distancing and Public Health practices in place at all times during the production process.

We believe music and the arts are incredibly helpful for mental health, whether in a time of quarantine or not. In addition to providing a much-needed service to the community, we are also creating financial opportunity for artists whose livelihoods have been adversely affected by the ongoing public health crisis.

Rocky Ripple Jazz Series #7 Feat. The Music of Thelonious Monk

Sunday August 9th we will be hosting a private jazz concert at our yard in Rocky Ripple. Due to the state of things and indoor venues continuing to stay closed we realize there is still a high demand for live music and believe that this could be great opportunity for musicians as well as music lovers. The property is big enough to host 60-70 people while maintaining social distancing precautions so please RSVP to the event or send me a personal message if you plan on attending. That way we can keep a head count and not overbook the event. It will by BYOB and we suggest bringing a blanket or chair as well as a can of bug spray (we are right off of the canal). This week the band is Amanda Gardier on saxophone, Nick Tucker on bass, Charlie Ballantine on guitar, and Chris Parker on drums. I hope you can join us and share the joy of live music again. There will be a suggested donation of $15. These events will be weather permitting. Send a personal message to Charlie Ballantine or Amanda Gardier for the address.

Somewhere, something incredible is… Waiting To Be Seen.

A conceptual art exhibit featuring 17 diverse Indiana artists displaying their visions of selected artworks of photography by experimental photographer Darrell Staggs

Coming in September to Lost Dog Gallery in Indianapolis.

Each artist has selected a photographic image, some “predictable” and some ‘abstract/surreal”, and are replicating what they “See” in their own personal style and medium.

It’s learning about Art and how Art works.

“It’s not what you Look at that matters, it’s what you See.”
– Henry David Thoreau
