Social Distance Art Window Walk

Social Distance Art Window Walk

Mon, Apr 06, 2020 8:00 AM – Mon, Apr 06, 2020 10:00 PM Social Distance Art Window Walk

Where: Harrison Center

Harrison Center 1505 N Delaware St Indianapolis, Indiana 46202

We’re so sad we can’t welcome you into our building for First Friday, so we commissioned artists to install window displays before they headed home to shelter-in-place. Next time you are out exercising or walking your dog, swing by the Harrison Center to see the window displays and celebrate the tradition of First Friday in a different way. They are sure to put a smile on your face.

Walk, bike, or even drive by, and check out the displays. The installation is open day and night, though the lights are spectacular at night.

(If you choose to walk by, please follow all social distance guidelines, remain at least 6 feet apart, and don’t touch the glass please!)

Project Drawdown C3S: Climate Change Community Solutions

Sat, Apr 25, 2020 4:00 PM – Sat, Apr 25, 2020 6:00 PM Project Drawdown C3S: Climate Change Community Solutions

Online Event

Join graduate students from Western Colorado University in an introductory presentation and discussion on the sustainable innovations detailed in Paul Hawken’s internationally acclaimed book “Drawdown: the Most Comprehensive Plan Ever Proposed to Reverse Global Warming”. In light of recent news, we have adapted this presentation to an online-only forum. Master of Environmental Management students will introduce the topic with an overview presentation of climate solutions that will reduce emissions or “drawdown” carbon out of the atmosphere. Then participants will break out into mediated discussion groups to identify actions and map out plans to advocate for initiatives locally, nationally, and beyond. Attendees will choose to participate in one of three discussion groups– 1) electricity, buildings, and cities, 2) food and land use, and 3) transportation and materials. Discussion groups will be limited to 25 participants on a first-come, first-served basis so sign up today to reserve your spot! This forum is designed to create open dialogue about climate change solutions and engage communities to take action. Please enroll for this free event to receive the Zoom link to join. Contact Lizzy Bauer, Valeda Scribner, or Samantha Hunter at [email protected] if you would like more information about this event.
