Hi Everyone:
Bring your mat, come as you are, and join me on the soft grass under the tall trees and gentle breeze of The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park: 100 Acres at Newfields (formerly the Indianapolis Museum of Art). Our rain location is always the Indianapolis Zen Center at 37th and Washington.
I lead a supportive, light-hearted practice of exploration. Through postures, you will learn how to listen to what your body is telling you, how to adjust yourself to find Interesting Sensation, and how breathing interacts with movement. Weight balance, tension, compression, stretch, cause and effect, and what you’re thinking and feeling at any given moment become clear.
Every (type of) body is welcome. You don’t need to be a gymnast to get something out of this.

You can only access the 100 Acres parking lot from westbound 38th St. Take the “White River Parkway East” exit. If you are coming from I-65/W. 38th St, make a U-turn at the main museum entrance. White River Parkway East is the first exit between Newfields and I-65.
Our spot is near the “Stratum Pier”. Enter the park from the lot with the basketball court sculpture. Walk towards the pond. Turn left at the swings and right at Funky Bones. Our spot is right in front of the viewfinders.
Yes, the class is free. I in no way make any money from doing this. I’m just doing my small part to hold space for people to come together as friends, learn to get out of our heads and see the wisdom right in front of our faces.
Please be generous towards Second Helpings to help them transform lives in Indianapolis through the power of food. Volunteers there prepare over 4,000 hot meals a day from donated fresh food, deliver those meals at no charge to over 80 local agencies, and provide no-charge culinary job training and job placement.

About Me:
My name is Tony Wiederhold.
My life’s work is helping people to find inner-kindness and healing through facilitating both Inner Work and Outer Work: contemplative practices and group volunteer service.
My teaching is informed by what I’ve learned from years of meditation practice and working through my own stuff while going to a job Monday through Friday, living in the world, and encountering a lot of hurt people, injustice, and cruelty.
You can find me at the Indianapolis Zen Center (www.indyzen.org) most Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings for 6:45am meditation.
What I’ve learned from practicing:
1) We need each other and we need to stop hurting each other.
2) Hurt people hurt people. Cruelty comes from pain and propagates. Recognizing pain and creating conditions for wounds to heal in yourself and others is the way to stop this.
3) Kindness heals both the giver and the receiver.
4) Working for a more just, less cruel world is totally possible and totally worth doing.
5) There’s plenty of work to be done and it’s a lot of fun to work together to make the world better for everyone. I feel that working to create circumstances for people to heal and thrive is the whole point of living.
See you soon.
Tony
