Tue, Oct 08, 2019 7:00 PM – Tue, Oct 08, 2019 9:00 PM Deconstruction: A Weekly Event with Melissa Joy Livermore

Where: Harrison Center Harrison Center 1505 N Delaware St Indianapolis, Indiana 46202

Deconstruction is a participatory art project, facilitated by Melissa Joy Livermore, centered around the process of removing thread after thread from a piece of fabric. Livermore has facilitated a variety of Deconstruction events over the last five years–intimate conversational spaces, gallery shows, open studios, and large group meetings across the globe. You may have seen her at the Harrison Center for open studios over the last couple of years.

While in Residence at the Harrison Center, Livermore will be hosting weekly Deconstruction events that are open to the public. Each event will look at the process from a different angle, based on the key themes that have been developed through the course of the project.

Regardless of the iteration Deconstruction is all about slowing down, creating space to be present. The environment created through this material exploration allows the participant to engage with those around them, with their own internal landscape.
