Buskirk-Chumley Theater

Buskirk-Chumley Theater 114 E Kirkwood Ave. Bloomington, Indiana 47408

Now in the National Register of Historic Places, the Indiana Theater – or simply “the Indiana,” as it is known to Bloomington residents – was built in 1922 as a silent movie house by Harry and Nova Vonderschmitt. Beautifully restored and outfitted with state-of-the-art technical equipment, the Theater is operated by BCT Management, Inc. on behalf of the City of Bloomington.

The Theater has become the primary venue for the Lotus World Music Festival, Indiana University’s African American Arts Institute, and Jazz from Bloomington. National acts such as Lyle Lovett, John Hiatt, Joan Baez, Andrew Bird, Kimya Dawson, the Indigo Girls, Umphrey’s McGee, Gillian Welch and John Mellencamp have graced the stage. Over 200 performances take place at the Theater each year, organized by more than 50 community organizations.

Walk the Talk “OnTour” is proud to present another event at The Buskirk-Chumley Theater in Bloomington, IN. Coming October 24th, we present the topic of Overcoming Fear. Overcoming Fear is something everyone has faced. Fear comes in many different ways, as in fear of achieving, loving, meeting people, change, the future of the world, and the list goes on and on. Overcoming it can be through strength, encouragement, faith, love, luck, and many other ways. Our six speakers will each share a different and enlightening story on how they overcame fear. Plus we throw in some fun with live music, confetti, our Motivational Balloon Drop, an engaging Emcee, and lots of ‘ah-hah’ moments!

This is an all-ages show. Tickets are $15 for Adults, $11 for Students and children 11 and under get in free, but they will need a ticket. Doors open at 7pm, show starts at 7:30 pm. Tickets are available through the link below. There are no extra fees for online purchases.
