From Net Zero Emissions and Carbon Capture to Nature-based Solutions, a number of neoliberal policy agendas and unproven, corporate techno-fixes continue to subsidize the expansion of fossil fuel industries, while further impacting communities on the frontlines of climate chaos.

As we head into the UN Climate Conference’ COP 26, where the implementation of the Paris Agreement will be negotiated, climate justice advocacy groups and social movements are faced with overcoming a complex array of these false climate schemes, in order to force lawmakers towards a Just Transition framework for tackling this crisis.

Join an international panel of climate justice organizers and frontline community leaders in a discussion about the multi-billion dollar climate investments being promoted by fossil fuel industries and other disaster capitalists at various NY Climate Week venues over the next few days.

This panel builds on the momentum created by the most recent edition of HOODWINKED IN THE HOTHOUSE (THIRD EDITION): RESIST FALSE SOLUTIONS TO CLIMATE CHANGE, co-created through the contributions of the coalition of organizations that constitute the ClimateFalseSolutions.org collective, listed below.

60-MINUTE WEBINAR

Presented by Kivi Leroux Miller

Thursday, September 23, 2021

1:00 – 2:00 pm ET (10:00 – 11:00 am PT)

Learn how to write copy that gets people clicking from your content and following through on your calls to action

Registration for this webinar is $99.

Recording available if you can’t attend live, but you must register before we close registration.

You are doing important work and have lots of ways for people to be engaged in it. But people just aren’t responding to your social media posts, emails, and other content as often as you’d like . . .

One possible reason is that your microcontent — and especially your conversion copywriting — isn’t quite as strong as it should be.

Microcontent is the short but powerful copy that’s actually read. It includes headlines, email subject lines, and short social media updates.

Conversion Copywriting is persuasive writing that motivates immediate action like clicking a button or completing a form. These are two of the seven writing styles that every nonprofit communicator should master.

We’ll cover both during this brand-new webinar.

During this webinar, you’ll learn:

  • 25 different approaches —including the magic 6 — to writing microcontent that can be used everywhere, from printed headlines to email subject lines to social media updates

  • How to motivate follow-through by showing people how they can solve an urgent problem, presenting limited and doable options, and other techniques that elicit action

  • How to write what we call “ethical clickbait” — you want to draw people in and motivate people, but in a meaningful and engaging way that won’t feel like a trap or a con.

  • The latest data on how many words you should use in various places

A five week online course on how to think like nature and design a world that meets the needs of 100% of life.
We invite you to join us and utilize your unique genius in support of the movement, whether or not you are currently immersed in the world of regenerative agriculture.

The course is dynamic and flexible with:
-Four online video modules you can watch at any time,
-Friday intimate discussions with our international speakers,
-Optional Tuesday community lab hours to crowdsource a living resource library
-A team project to translate your learning into real action, and
-A final group brainstorm to harness all the creative ideas we can possibly imagine to scale the Regen Ag movement.

You will learn a systems view of regenerative agriculture, as we explore such themes reframing traditional narratives, grounding in principles and practices, and understanding the leverage points of how we can make a difference. Learn from on-the-ground activist and farmers like Vandana Shiva, founder of Navdanya and author of over 100 books on everything from biomimicry to deep ecology; Allan Savory, Founder of Savory Institute; Eric Toensmeir author of the Carbon Farming Solution, and senior fellow of land use solutions at Project Drawdown, among others.

Welcome to the 16th Annual Great Lakes Bioneers Detroit Conference!

Great Lakes Bioneers Detroit in partnership with University of Detroit Mercy offers an annual conference that provides a platform for community members to learn, network and highlight innovative approaches to environmental, economic and social challenges. The Local Programming Committee has selected “One Earth Community” as the Conference theme. Our focus is on promoting a sustainable, racially-equitable, inclusive community that fosters life-giving relationships, nurtures connections, and celebrates solutions for restoring and healing Earth.

One Earth Community is an intentionally broad theme as we seek diverse voices and participation in a conference that considers solutions to the many challenges facing our Earth Community. We see this conference as an opportunity for the community to share experiences and strategies to ensure we humans are a positive force for the earth community by addressing the critical issues such as environmental degradation, systemic racism, and health disparities.

We hope that by attending, you will be able to explore the above topics, develop skills and become motivated to engage in action for the betterment of our One Earth Community.

We offer Tours, Youth Learnshops and Adult Learnshops on Friday October 15. Youth Learnshops are intended for ages 12-18, Middle and High School.
